“Every person has two deaths: when they are buried in the ground, and the last time someone says their name.”
Ernest Hemingway

FAQ
How does shippping work?
Once you’ve purchased a memorial listed above, we will ship you a small package containing instructions, a sterile collection receptical, and a prepaid return envelope. All you need to do is place a small sample of the ashes into the container, seal it and place it in the included return envelope. We will take care of the return shipping, and initiate the production of your customized memorial as soon as we receive it.
How do you put ashes into a drawing tablet?
In our clean workshop environment, we carefully create a small opening through the back of a standard stock drawing tablet. Your provided sample is then inserted into the existing drawing dust and mixed, and the device is tested. We then permanentnly seal up the access hole, and proceed to mount your customized engraved panels on the front and/or back, according to your chosen designs.
Where did this idea strange idea come from?
It’s true; this is an unconventional idea 🙂 The genesis came about organically through my own family’s discussions about mortality and legacy. My wife, Heather, was writing a play about that very subject, and one day as we were brainstorming ideas about how one could ensure that they were remembered after they die, we came up with this. For us, it represents a real, tangible way to maintain a connection with a loved-one. Rather than a cold urn that sits on a shelf unnoticed, this interactive memorial encourages those left behind to engage, remember and keep-alive the stories of their loved-one. We thought of it for ourselves initially, but after talking to other friends and relatives, there were enough people who though they would also like it that we decided to share the idea in this format.
Is this for real?

Are you affiliated with Spinmaster Corp?
Not at all. We respect and admire Spinmaster Corp as a company and their products (especially the Etch-a-Sketchâ„¢, of course). In no way do we intend to infringe upon their intellectual property or registered trademarks. We are not a licensed reseller, nor affiliated agents of any kind. The service we offer is simply the modification and customization of an off-the-shelf toy, which we purchase at regular retail prices. This offered service comes from the heart, and it is our sincere hope that our message – – that their drawing toy can help sustain and perpetuate the memory of a loved one – – would be viewed by Spinmaster in the positive light that we intend it.
